ABOUT THE KIDS' COOKERY CO. CIC

Building Healthy Futures Through Food, Play & Confidence

At The Kids' Cookery Co., we believe cooking is about so much more than making recipes.

It's about building confidence, encouraging independence, developing healthy habits and creating positive experiences around food that children can carry with them for life.

Through fun, hands-on cooking experiences, we help children explore food, develop practical life skills, build friendships and discover just how capable they really are.

Whether a child is mixing for the very first time or leading a team cooking challenge, every experience is designed to support their growth, confidence and wellbeing.

Why We Exist

We live in a world where many children have fewer opportunities to learn practical life skills, develop confidence in the kitchen or build positive relationships with food.

At the same time, families face growing challenges around healthy eating, food confidence, social connection and wellbeing.

We believe cooking offers a powerful solution.

Cooking naturally develops:

  • Confidence

  • Independence

  • Communication skills

  • Creativity

  • Problem solving

  • Teamwork

  • Healthy eating habits

By bringing children into the kitchen in a fun, supportive and age-appropriate way, we help them develop skills that extend far beyond food.

More Than A Cooking Class

The Kids' Cookery Co. is a Community Interest Company (CIC) with a mission to create meaningful opportunities for children to learn, grow and connect through food.

Our programmes are designed to support children's development at every stage of their journey.

From sensory food exploration for our youngest learners to leadership opportunities for older children, we provide a clear pathway that encourages progress, achievement and personal growth.

We don't just teach children how to follow a recipe.

We help them develop confidence in themselves.

Our Mission

To build healthier, happier and more confident futures through food education, practical life skills and community connection.

Everything we do is guided by three core values:

🍓 Food

Helping children develop positive relationships with food, healthy habits and food confidence.

🌱 Play

Creating engaging, hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.

❤️ Confidence

Supporting children to believe in themselves, try new things and develop independence through achievement.

Our Community Impact

As a Community Interest Company, we are passionate about using food as a tool for positive social change.

Alongside our classes and programmes, we are working towards community-led projects that bring people together through food, including partnerships with schools, care homes, charities and local organisations.

Through these projects, children will have opportunities to:

  • Develop empathy and kindness

  • Build meaningful community connections

  • Learn about giving back

  • Work collaboratively with others

  • Understand the wider impact food can have on people's lives

Our vision is to create a generation of confident young people who not only know how to cook, but understand how food can bring people together.

Message from the Founder...

Krystall Henriques RSPH

Nutrition Coach & Childhood Nutrition Specialist

This isn't just a "Cooking School", working with children, teens & young adults over the years I've seen just how important community, confidence & creativity is in supporting their development & journey into adulthood.

I want to use cooking as a tool to build a community where children can learn, achieve, make friends, gain confidence and develop skills that will support them throughout their lives as well as encouraging a positive environment around food & health.

From first mixes to future leaders, I want every child who joins The Kids' Cookery Co. to feel proud of what they can achieve.

Because when children gain confidence in the kitchen, they often gain confidence far beyond it.
